JIM’s gym smooth*e mahk*r

I designed this asynchronous non-linear eLearning project from an online challenge. It shows my ability to work variables in Storyline. It was a lot of fun to make because it combined my love of instructional design with my love of nutrition.

EXPERIENCE IT

overview

Audience: Gym members

Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Visual Design, Subject Matter Expertise

Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360, BG Remover, Google Suite, ChatGPT

My Process

I completed this project using the ADDIE model. in the analysis phase I identified the training need, defined the target audience. I didn’t need to conduct a needs assessment as the gap was outlined in the brief. The design phase I planned an assessment and did a quick storyboard.

I developed the learning experience using Articulate 360, I originally started in Rise but pivoted when I realized the how I need to utilize variables. I showed a few people the finished product and iterated it over a few weeks. This was pivotal for the finished product as the feedback caught a lot of mistakes and provided great recommendations for improvement. I evaluated after each phase.

Brief from eLearning challenge

The project allowed me to play with variables and explore some of the more advanced features of Articulate Storyline. I think if I had to do it over, I would change the aspect ratio. It is at 4:3, I would have more room if it was at 16:9.

Since this was based on an eLearning challenge, the process concludes with full development. However, in a real client scenario, I would evaluate the project’s impact using Kirkpatrick’s model.
